Peabody Place Celebrates Elvis Week with Kick-off from
Tribute Artist Chris MacDonald
MEMPHIS, Tennessee, August XX, 2007 – Elvis Tribute Artist Chris MacDonald will perform at the Peabody Place Retail and Entertainment Center’s main atrium at 1 p.m. August 11 to kick off Elvis Week in Memphis. August 11 marks the first day of the 30th annual Elvis Week, a weeklong celebration of Elvis and his impact on the world.
Chris MacDonald will bring back the magic of the “King of Rock-n-Roll” with his tribute, Memories of Elvis. MacDonald has the honor of being the first and only tribute artist contracted by Elvis Enterprises for the annual Elvis Week and Birthday Week festivities at Graceland's Heartbreak Hotel, 3677 Elvis Presley Blvd, for seven consecutive years. MacDonald has also performed in the Legends in Concert stage productions throughout the county and has appeared with Elvis' original back-up group, the Jordanaires. His full-production show, including a dynamic concert band and dancers, has sold out venues throughout the country.
“My show is respectful to the memory of Elvis and his contributions to music and popular culture,” said MacDonald. “I am excited to kick off the 30th anniversary celebration at Peabody Place, right in the middle of Downtown Memphis.”
MacDonald’s performance is free and open to the public.
