Augustine Honors Emergency Medical Services Professionals with EMS Week

WHAT:
In celebration of EMS Week, Belz Factory Outlet World Ð St. Augustine
is hosting an event to honor Northeast Florida EMS agencies and bring
awareness of the services they offer to the public.
The First Coast Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council, which
comprises all Northeast Florida county EMS agencies, will be on hand
to display two "Life Flight" helicopters and several fire trucks and
ambulances in the front mall parking lot. Representatives from various
agencies will also be available to answer questions and to educate the
public about how and when to utilize services.
EMS Week, May 19th through May 25th, began in 1974 when President
Gerald Ford signed an official proclamation to recognize the accomplishments
of the men and women who dedicate themselves to saving the lives of
others. National activities for EMS Week 2002 will focus on the theme
"Help is Only a Heartbeat Away."
