Moving six million cases a year

With the heart of the distribution industry right here in Memphis, it only makes sense that Triple H, a third-party logistics provider, chose North Memphis as itsoperations center.

Specializing in contract and public warehousing, this eight-year-old company made the move to North Memphis Industrial Park four years ago. “Accessi-bility to both the interstate system and local rail terminals made this the obvious choice when it was time to relocate,” said Gene Hamilton, vice-president of sales.

According to Larry Hamilton, president of Triple H, another benefit of operating within North Memphis is the solid base of industrial workers. “We operate with 25 full-time employees and range from 15 to 20 temporary employees. But, depending on our customers’ requirements, we may need as many as 80 employees to get the job done. Performing to that level of flexibility requires a well-trained, local pool of employees.”

Since moving to 706 Royal and 1500 Thomas, a combined total of 47,735 square feet, Triple H’s business continues to be on the rise. The company is currently averaging 75– 125 shipments a day to customers such as Home Depot, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target and Linens ‘N Things, handling nearly six million cases a year, accounting for nearly 80 million units of inventory for their various customers.
