Located on the first floor of 100 Peabody Place Tower office building, Swig will debut to Memphians the week of December 15, 2003. "We are very excited to add an upscale venue for people to come together and have a great time downtown," said Andrew J. "It is the perfect place to meet up with friends after work or have dinner before a show at the Orpheum across the street." San Antonio, Texas-based Swig will offer patrons a menu of more than 70 martinis with quotes and stories about every libation. The full-service, full-range bar will serve wine, cognac, brandies, bourbons and other cocktails, as well as a limited menu of food entrees ranging between $9 and $25. Like the original Swig on San Antonio's Riverwalk, the "up-quality" establishment will feature live musical entertainment, featuring primarily jazz with some eclectic selections mixed in. "We're considered a martini bar, but we are really much more than that," says Dan Parrott, operations manager for Swig.
