Proceeds to be Donated to "Mothers Against Drunk Driving" (M.A.D.D.)

Lakeland, TN (June 17, 1998) -- Come celebrate Father’s Day at Belz Factory Outlet World where Dad can take the wheel in an official racecar and test his driving skills on exciting video racetracks, Friday, June 19th and Saturday, June 20th from 11am - 7pm. Proceeds from a silent auction and the $1.00 charge to experience the thrill of racecar driving will go to Mothers Against Drunk Driving - M.A.D.D. Project Impact, a charity designed to educate people on the hazards of drunk driving.

"This event combines family fun with a worthy cause and we support the efforts of groups such as M.A.D.D. in educating the public and saving lives," says Andrew J. Groveman, President of the Factory Outlet World Division of Belz Enterprises.

This year, the event will be in memory of Stephanie Kuehl and six month old daughter Sadie, who were killed in a traffic accident on May 30th when a drunk driver struck their car. They were the daughter and granddaughter of Margaret Brown, coordinator of the arts and crafts show at Belz Factory Outlet World in Lakeland.

The proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to M.A.D.D. in their memory. Among the items to be auctioned include a weekend stay at The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, oriental glassware and free gas from Amoco.

The event will also feature the McDonald’s Ford Taurus replica of Bill Elliot’s NASCAR Winston Cup Series and will be at Center Court Fri., June 19th and Sat. June 20th from 11am - 7pm. Visitors can also register to win two tickets to the A.C. Delco NASCAR race November 1st in Rockingham, North Carolina.
