MEMPHIS, Tenn. (November 18, 1997) – Maria Fleming, general manager of Belz Factory Outlet World - Las Vegas, was recently appointed to the Henderson Convention Center Board of Directors.

The city council voted to appoint Fleming to the board on November 4, 1997. Fleming’s appointment begins immediately.

Fleming, who has been with Belz since December 1996, is responsible for managing the largest outlet mall under one roof in the country.

Throughout her career, Fleming has earned many distinguishable honors such as the Woman of Achievement Award 1987 Hotel/Tourism for Nevada, and two Value Retail News Savvy Awards. Additionally, she has received a Merit/Maxi award from International Council of Shopping Centers. Fleming has also served as the Women’s Council president of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and president of Soroptimist International of Metropolitan Las Vegas.

Graduating from Drake Business College and Ramada School of Hospitality gave Fleming an excellent background to help her establish her career in property management.

Fleming, a Las Vegas resident for 28 years, also gained experience from her 20-year career with Casino/Resorts including the Tropicana Hotel/Casino and Marina Hotel, as director of sales and marketing.
