"13 Days Of Giving" Charity Hosted By Belz Factory Outlet Mall - Las Vegas

Las Vegas (December 7, 1998) -- In the true spirit of the holiday season, Belz Factory Outlet Mall (BFOW) is participating in a charity promotion called the "13 Days of Giving" designed to provide the community’s neediest families with holiday gifts from a ‘wish list’ they have filled out. The promotion, which is run jointly by BFOW, Channel 13, The United Way and The Boyd Group, is currently underway and will run through December 16th.

The "13 Days of Giving" promotion works this way: Channel 13 has been airing commercials that discuss the promotion and directs viewers to Belz Factory Outlet World. The station identifies needy families and gives a profile of them so viewers may learn about a featured family to which they can donate. Viewers can then visit the mall’s information booth in the North End Green Food Court area where they will receive a donor card with a profile of a family and their "Christmas Wish List." Each card has important information such as the family’s name, clothing sizes, and needed items.

Once the family information is given, the Belz shopper can take the list to the stores at the Belz Factory Outlet World and shop to fill the family’s wish list.

"We are proud to host this wonderful charity promotion and to give something back to our community, especially during the holidays," says Andrew J. Groveman, President of the Factory Outlet World Division of Belz Enterprises.

Once the shopping has been completed, gifts may be taken back to the information center at Belz Factory Outlet World where they are placed in a bag with the family’s identification number on it. All presents for needy families are to be delivered to them by The Salvation Army at a later date. The actual identity of the families are kept anonymous unless they give permission to be identified.

Last year the promotion assisted 2500 families and it is expected to help even more this year. "We urge as many people as are able to come to Belz Factory Outlet World and participate in this worthy charity," says Mr. Groveman.

In addition, the Girl Scouts will once again run a gift-wrapping booth this year at the Carousel Food Court. All proceeds from the gift-wrapping go to help the Girl Scouts. Belz Factory Outlet World - Las Vegas is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. From December 12th to December 23rd, the mall will have extended holiday hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Christmas Eve, the mall hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. On New Year’s Eve, the mall hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m and on New Year’s Day, the mall hours are 11 a.m to 6 p.m.
