WHAT:
To celebrate "Pandas, Paintings and Pagodas: A Weekend of Chinese Culture," Peabody Place Museum will take part in a family day on the grounds of the Brooks Museum. The museum, which houses one of the largest collections of artwork from the Chinese Qing Dynasty, will host Chinese vendors and artists at the Peabody Place Museum tent. Visitors can enjoy hands-on art activities such as Chinese fan making and Chinese calligraphy.

Background:
With more than 400 pieces of Chinese art, Peabody Place Museum houses one of the largest collections of artwork from the Chinese Qing Dynasty. Examples of the museum's rarest pieces include an imperial cinnabar throne, intricate jade sculptures and ivory masks. The Museum is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays, noon until 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4.50 for senior citizens, and $4 for students.
