FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PEABODY PLACE ENTERTAINMENT AND RETAIL CENTER PROUD TO HOST 6th ANNUAL INDIEMEMPHIS FILM FESTIVAL MEMPHIS, TN (October 22, 2003) - Muvico Peabody Place 22 Theaters presents the 2003 IndieMemphis Film Festival: The Soul of Southern Film from Thursday, October 23rd through Thursday, October 30th. The Festival has been expanded from four to eight days this year. “Peabody Place Entertainment and Retail Center is pleased to host a second year of the IndieMemphis Film Festival,” said Andrew J. Groveman, senior vice president of Belz, owner and developer of Peabody Place Entertainment and Retail Center. “We support this exciting vehicle for expression of local talent, as well as that of national filmmakers who are connected to the South.” IndieMemphis is an initiative of DeltaAxis, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting contemporary visual artists in the Mid-South and Delta areas. The IndieMemphis Film Festival: The Soul of Southern Film is a juried film competition and other events that focus exclusively on exploring the expression of Southern themes and sensibilities through the art of filmmaking. The 2003 Festival kicks off one week of independent features, documentaries and short films, both on film and video. Tickets go on sale at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, at Peabody Place Entertainment and Retail Center at the IndieMemphis table outside Muvico.
