Holmes Road Industrial Park Completed Largest Spec Warehouse in Belz 50-Year History

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (October 28, 1997) - Construction on Holmes Road Industrial Park, the largest spec warehouse built in Belz Enterprises 50-year history, is now complete and ready for tenants. Holmes Road Industrial Park is located on the corner Holmes Rd. and Bledsoe Rd. near the Hickory Hill/Holmes Rd. intersection and adjacent to the new Kroger distribution center.

The building consists of 385,000-sq. ft. of warehouse and distribution space. Holmes Road Industrial Park will offer state-of-the-art ESFR sprinkler systems and ample dock doors. The building also has capabilities of offering cross docking for convenient loading and unloading. The ceilings in Holmes Road Industrial Park are an unusual 30-ft. high.

"The increased height is a characteristic of modern buildings. Most older warehouse and distribution centers do not offer the height and capabilities that the newer buildings do," says Andrew J. Groveman, senior vice president of marketing and administration, Belz Enterprises.

"Memphis continues to be the single most sought-after distribution center in the United States. It has been and continues to be known as America's distribution center," says Groveman. "Because it is located within one-day drive of 76 percent of the United States, Memphis remains the logical choice for an industrial center like Holmes Road Industrial Park. The building is located in a very desirable part of the city, perfect for any large distribution corporation. It is close to the Memphis International Airport and outside of the Memphis city limits."

With headquarters in Memphis, Tenn., Belz is a multi-faceted real estate company with more than 25 million sq. ft. of developed property including more than 40 shopping complexes, ranging from community shopping centers to regional malls, as well as industrial/warehouse/distribution facilities and developments, office parks and corporate campuses, hotels including The Peabody Hotels in Memphis and Orlando, and residential developments.
