Belz•Burrow Continues to Thrive

A decade ago, Belz Enterprises strengthened its retail experience by joining forces with Bruce Burrow, a developer of national commercial retail based in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The Belz•Burrow partnership offers its clients a combined wealth of shopping center experience. Major chains, such as Wal-Mart, Lowe’s and JC Penney, look to Belz•Burrow to develop and deliver new locations in key markets, wherever opportunities arise.

Today, Belz•Burrow’s success continues with the opening of the largest Wal-Mart in Arkansas. The 220,000-square-foot Supercenter is located in Jacksonville, Arkansas and was successfully opened January 26.

Located at the intersection of Vandenberg Blvd. and US Highway 67, the state’s largest Wal-Mart is just ten miles north of Little Rock. The Supercenter will be the anchor store of the Air Park Commons Shopping Center.

Arkansas proves to be the “land of opportunity” for Belz•Burrow as it nears completion on Porter Commons, a 332,844-square-foot project in Blytheville. Porter Commons is Northeast Arkansas’ largest strip shopping center. The first two phases included a 183,211-square-foot Wal-Mart completed in April 1999 and a
34,784-square-foot strip center, which is 100 percent leased. Tenants of the strip center include Hibbetts Sporting Goods, Freidman Jewelers and Hallmark.

Belz•Burrow has also acquired property in Blytheville formerly owned by Wal-Mart. The land will be divided into smaller retail spaces to develop what will be the Chickasaw Plaza Shopping Center. Coupled with the Porter Commons Shopping Center, Belz•Burrow will have 427,437 square feet of property in Blytheville, making it the largest commercial property owner in the county.

Belz•Burrow was formed in 1990 and holds 13 properties totaling 1,604,457 square feet in Jonesboro, Blytheville, Cabot, Jacksonville, and Paragould, Arkansas and one in Sikeston, Missouri.
