Belz Announces 225,000-Square-Foot Phase II in St. Augustine

Belz Enterprises continues to be a leading developer in commercial, industrial and retail properties. The constant changing of consumer needs requires Belz to create a diverse tenant mix in its factory outlet malls, where consumers expect to find a variety of brand name and designer outlets offering a wide assortment of products.

With demand for additional retail facilities surging particularly in high tourist areas, Belz Enterprises announced its plans to develop a 225,000-square-foot phase II in historical St. Augustine, Florida.

"Demand for additional space has never been stronger in any market than it appears to be in St. Augustine," noted Andrew J. Groveman, president of Belz Factory Outlet division. "Our leasing people, headed by John Ellis and Ron Simkin, are finalizing deals with key tenants that will certainly lead to a second phase of the same high quality level and consumer appeal as achieved in phase I."

Since the grand opening of phase I on July 29, 1999, Belz Factory Outlet World – St. Augustine has had a tremendous response from consumers, not only from the local market but the regional market as well, in addition to the large number of tourists that visit St. Augustine each year.

Virtually 95 percent leased with a roster of 70 stores, Belz is confident that phase II will have just as much success. Most of the stores in phase I have exceeded their sales projections by at least 20 percent, and they continue to be among the top retailers in the market.

Included among the prestigious and highly recognizable tenants at the mall are Nike, Pfaltzgraff, Royal Doulton, Danskin, Adidas Company Store, Samsonite and Camp Coleman to name a few.

Adding to the ultimate shopping experience provided by Belz is a spectacular food court including All-American favorites, International Delicacies, and the always popular Gourmet Coffee. Its 250-seat capacity makes for an easy and enjoyable trip to the mall's eatery.

Conveniently located on Exit 95 off Interstate 95, St. Augustine features a historic district that appeals to many tourists and locals alike. Currently the mall is a strong draw from Jacksonville to the north and as far as Daytona Beach to the south, and it is a little more than two hours from Disney World. The Fountain of Youth, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and the World Golf Hall of Fame are among some of the many attractions worth exploring in historical St. Augustine.
