Belz Factory Outlet World - St. Augustine Welcomes Local Popuation Boom One of the major factors Belz considers when developing an outlet property is the surrounding population and its potential for growth. The company’s careful planning and site selection is paying off at Belz Factory Outlet World – St. Augustine, an area of Florida that has seen an unprecedented population boom in the past few years. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of St. Johns County, where Belz’s outlet property is located, grew 6.7 percent from 2003 to 2004, making it the ninth-fastest-growing county in the nation. Neighboring Flagler County was first, with a 10.1 percent population increase. With such an influx of new people, developers are rushing to meet housing needs in the area. Directly behind Belz Factory Outlet World – St. Augustine on Belz Boulevard, is St. Augustine Center, a new multifamily housing development with 600 townhomes and condominiums, and 250 apartments. This summer, developers plan to break ground on an expansion just north of the shopping center. Emerald Coast RV, a high-end recreational vehicle dealership chain, and Camping World, a national retail company that sells RV camping supplies and accessories, will be built on the 20- acre expansion site. Known for its upscale, name-brands, Belz Factory Outlet World – St. Augustine recently added pampering to its line of services.
