Belz Construction Services Helps Tenants Build for Success

Belz owns and manages more than 30 million square feet of industrial and distribution centers, shopping centers, malls, office buildings, mixed-use centers, corporate campuses and hotels.

In other words, the company has designed and built just about every type of commercial development imaginable. But no task has proven too great for the team of people who make up Belz Construction Services. According to Jack Bearden, managing director of architecture and construction for Belz, the reason for the division’s prosperity has been its creative, hard-working and dedicated staff of 20.

“There are a multitude of reasons for our success over the years, but the overriding key has been our ability to communicate effectively with one another and work together toward common goals,” he said.

Another factor in the division’s success has been its ability to ensure projects are innovative and tailored to each customer’s needs, and delivered on time and on budget.

“We have learned many lessons over the years as to the best ways to design and construct a new building or space, and we utilize that experience everyday to deliver a high-quality product of which everyone can be proud,” Bearden explained.

The primary focus of the department is to provide architectural and construction services for the myriad of industrial, retail and office buildings in the Belz portfolio, as well as handle the design and construction needs for new developments.

Belz Construction Services offers its clients a complete array of construction and design services, from project management, to consulting, to feasibility studies and planning, to design development and three-dimensional renderings. An in-house field crew even makes it possible for the department to handle its own earthwork and site development operations.

In fact, the division has gained such a stellar reputation for success that it is now providing design and construction services to third-party clients outside Belz’s portfolio. Bearden said the division is focusing on growing and expanding its third-party offerings as a natural extension of the services it already offers.

Last year, Belz Construction Services completed projects for High-Tech Institute in Memphis, St. Louis, Nashville, and Denver, and is gearing up to start a new project in Arlington, Virginia. The team also has completed multiple construction projects throughout the Mid-South for Methodist Physician Services.

Between its work for Belz and for outside clients, the construction division completes more than 100 projects annually in a range of different types, styles and sizes.
