(Sept. 29, 1999) -- Belz Enterprises, one of the largest developers of factory outlet malls in the country, is pleased to host a Grand Opening Event for its latest factory outlet mall in St. Augustine, Florida from Thursday, October 7th through Sunday, October 10th. Festivities for the 252,000-square-foot, enclosed, climate-controlled mall will kick-off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday. "We would like to welcome everyone to our newest factory outlet mall and encourage all to come out and enjoy our Grand Opening festivities," says Andrew J. Groveman, President of the Factory Outlet Division of Belz Enterprises. "We also strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of the up to 75% discounts available from our unbeatable selection of high-end, designer manufacturers and other outlet stores." The three-day weekend extravaganza celebration, which will have a "Memphis Style" theme, will take place during regular mall hours. On Friday, the event will be broadcast from a live radio remote with Jacksonville station WSOS from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. that will feature a prize giveaway trip. The festivities will also include a variety of activities and entertainment such as carnival games with prizes, 9-hole golf, face painting for the kids and musical talent showcased throughout the weekend. Activities for kids will be offered through TLC Events, Inc., an Edgewater, Florida-based entertainment and party planning company. On Friday, October 8th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., TLC Events will offer three clowns: "Sissy," "Mr. Balloonatic," and a face painting clown. Later on that evening, entertainment will be provided from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Center Court by Ken Baxley, a one man band. James, the disc jockey, will accompany Roger, a professional "Elvis" impersonator, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, October 9th, a Classic Car Show will be sponsored at the mall by the Ancient City Auto Club from 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. The club, which has been in existence for 16 years, will display a range of car styles from antiques to muscle cars to modified street rods. From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 am., visitors can enjoy the Cloggers show put on by the Sand Spur Cloggers, a group that has been performing locally and throughout the Southeast since 1992. Grand Opening festivities will be broadcast by live remote throughout the day on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on WQIK Country, which will sponsor a free trip giveaway contest. Later that day, WKQL Cool 96.6 Oldies will have a live remote from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. During this live remote, DJs will give away $10 - $50 gift certificates every hour that are donated by and redeemable at participating Belz mall stores. Also on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., TLC Events will offer fun family activities such as 9-hole golf, carnival games with prizes including Football Toss and Bottle Pick Up, Humpty Dumpty, as well as a caricaturist and clowns. The St. Augustine High School Band, the "Jazz Ambassadors," which performed at the 1996 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and has won numerous contests both nationally and internationally, will be on hand for everyone’s listening pleasure. Also for the whole family, Ken Baxley again will entertain from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Center Court. At 6:00 p.m., the day’s activities will come to a close when the winner of the employee "Elvis Look-A-Like" contest is announced. Finally, on Sunday, October 9th, there will be a live radio remote from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on WAPE Contemporary and a giveaway trip will be announced. Entertainment will be once again be provided by disc jockey James, and "Elvis" performer, Roger, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. "The anniversary celebration is sure to be a load of fun for the entire family and we hope friends and family will come out to help us make this event truly memorable," says Mr. Groveman.
