GM Fabricators
35% increase in business in 1999

GM Fabricators is well aware of the advantages of being located in North Memphis. Easy access to expressways and railways continues to be a contributing factor for businesses moving to the North Memphis area.

A tenant of North Memphis Industrial Park for nearly a decade, GM Fabricators proves positive effects location can have on business. George Miller, president of GM Fabricators, attributes a 35 percent increase in business over the past year, in part, to the accessibility and economic strength of operating in North Memphis. “This location allows us to get anywhere quickly,” Miller said.

A major player in the sheet metal fabricator and installation business since beginning in 1982, GM Fabricators occupies 12,408 square feet at its 1432 N. Thomas location.

Due to the nature of the business, employees fluctuate anywhere from 5 to 25 highly specialized employees servicing their industrial accounts, which include Buckeye, Bryce Corporation and Block Drugs.

GM Fabricators provides capital-improvement-type work to its clients. Basically a “job shop” according to Miller, GM Fabricators primarily works from blueprints provided to them by clients. Projects include dust control systems, material handling conveyor systems and trim systems.
