Customer service is an integral part of Karen Knight’s job as an administrative assistant for the Belz Property Maintenance Department.

“I love all aspects of customer service,” says Karen, who has been with Belz Enterprises since May of 1998. “Dealing with people on a daily basis can be exciting as well as challenging,” she continues.

Karen points out that what makes her daily routine enjoyable is the opportunity to work with a variety of people and to be a part of a great team.

Updating and maintaining the Belz property maintenance work order system can be time consuming, and requires a detail-oriented problem solver. Karen is up to the task. She is responsible for recording and tracking maintenance problems for the tenants at North Memphis Industrial Park.

“Each work order that I receive is entered into the Facility Management Work Order System,” Karen explains. The Maintenance Supervisor and Asset Manager are notified when the order is generated—giving them a description of the maintenance issue along with information on which con-tractor was called to resolve the problem.

Karen then follows the work order until the job is completed, outlining information in the system detailing the history of maintenance calls for each Belz tenant.

Prior to her employment at Belz, Karen was an Office Manager for the Oak Court Mall. She has been married for 16 years and has one son, Austin, who is seven years old.
