New Leases Surge At Festival Bay Mall At International Drive In 2004

Festival Bay Mall at International Drive, Orlando’s first Lifestyle, Retail and Entertainment Center, is growing by leaps and bounds, with no signs of slowing down any time soon. In recent months, more than 65,000 square feet of small shop space has been leased.

"Festival Bay Mall at International Drive continues to provide a varied mix of retail and entertainment options for the whole family," said Andrew J. Groveman, senior vice president of B.T. Orlando. "It’s exciting to see such a diverse group of restaurants and shops locating there."

This summer, two new restaurants, Murray Bros. Caddyshack TM and Fuddruckers, home of "The World’s Greatest Hamburger," opened their doors at the center. The first full-service restaurants to open at Festival Bay Mall at International Drive, each restaurant boasts a casual dining experience that encourages guests to interact with everything from the décor to the preparation of meals.

Murray Bros. Caddyshack™, owned by comedian Bill Murray and his five brothers, keeps guests entertained from the moment they arrive. The 10,000-square-foot restaurant has been made to resemble a wacky country club, much like the one featured in the movie of the same name. With a full-service, continental menu and moderately priced entrees, the restaurant offers a fun, family dining experience.

Fuddruckers, known for its mouth-watering hamburgers, is the second recent restaurant addition to Festival Bay Mall at International Drive. The 5,500-square-foot waterfront space is Fuddruckers’ only Orlando location. The restaurant features its famous hamburgers, each made from beef that is ground fresh daily on site. The menu now includes steak and chicken entrees, and hamburgers are cooked-to-order. Guests can participate in the experience by building their own sandwich from a loaded fresh produce and condiment area.

Dixie Crossroads and Bella Mozzarella are opening soon and will offer outside dining alongside the mall’s beautiful lakefront water feature and fountain.

Dixie Crossroads, which specializes in fresh Florida seafood, including rock shrimp, royal red shrimp, "hoppers"and brownies, depending on the season, has leased 9,500 square feet of space.

Bella Mozzarella Italian Restaurant will offer fresh, authentic, high quality Italian cuisine. The 6000-square-foot restaurant plans to feature a selection of fresh vegetable, meat and seafood pastas, specialty rotisserie chicken, grilled fresh fish, hot Panini sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts and homemade gelati.

In addition to the new restaurants, several retail stores have joined Festival Bay at International Drive.

Zirbes’ Emporium, a home décor and collectibles store, has made the mall the site for its newest location. Its owners, who have 25 years of retail experience in Hawaii, offer an eclectic mix of items, including specialty antiques, toys and gifts.

National Book Warehouse, Inc. celebrated the grand opening of its first permanent Orlando store in August. Its space boasts over 20,000 square feet of hardbacks, paperbacks, calendars, stationery and music. The store promotes literacy by extending a 15 percent discount to teachers, librarians and school administrators from pre-school through college.

Hawaiian Kiteworks, a retailer of wind art and kites, opened in October. Owner Randall Lum has entertained crowds with skillful stunt kite flying for more than a decade, performing kite flying exhibitions at the 2000 Olympics “Passing the Torch” ceremony, at Epcot Center’s kite extravaganzas and at local holiday celebrations. Visitors can take part in flying lessons taught by Lum or browse through the array of unique kites, mobiles, wind chimes and gift items.

Another addition is Hayron Fine Arte Gallery, owned by art collector Byron Thomas. Thomas became interested in art when buying pieces for friends during his travels to South America. This gallery is Thomas’s first in the United States; he has two in South America.

Visitors will find unique pieces from all over the world. Hayron Fine Arte Gallery’s selection includes figurines made of tagua, also known as vegetable ivory. Grown on trees, tagua is as strong as the ivory that comes from elephants and rhinoceroses.

ProfessioNail, another new tenant at Festival Bay Mall at International Drive, is a full-service nail salon offering manicures, pedicures, one-of-a kind nail art, acrylic nails, waxing and more.

In addition to these stores and restaurants, the lifestyle center will soon welcome the following tenants: Discover Cuts, Excalibur, Festival News, Flagland, Linen Dot Com, Sunny Project, Suit Warehouse, Smoothy Bee, One-Six-Eight Chinese Restaurant, Victoria’s Gold & Silver, Specialty Products and Fantasy Arcade.
