Panther Woods Grand Opening Celebration Sparks College Scholarship Establishment

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (November 14, 1997) - Florida's newly renovated Panther Woods Country Club will hold its Grand Opening Celebration and Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday, November 14, 1997 in Fort Pierce.

In honor of the Grand Opening Celebration, Panther Woods has established an annual college scholarship fund. The scholarship, provided to one outstanding student per year, will cover tuition, books and/or educational expenses at Indian River Community College. The scholarship will be presented to Indian River Community College at a luncheon ceremony at 1:00 p.m. at the Panther Woods clubhouse.

The Grand Opening Ceremony will begin with the most dazzling golf entertainment show around. Chuck "The Hit Man" Hiter, the amazing trick-shot artist, will perform at 8:00 a.m. Featured in Golf World magazine, The Hit Man has been called "the best golf entertainer in the world." Hiter's tricks include hitting six golf balls with one swing and hitting balls off an egg and a wristwatch. After the four-person scramble tournament, a luncheon will be served on the lawn and prizes will be distributed.

Formerly known as Meadowood Country Club, Panther Woods underwent extensive renovations after being purchased recently by WELP Golf

Investment, Ltd. Renovations include the interior and exterior of the clubhouse, which have been redesigned to incorporate elegance with comfort and practicality. The golf course has also been redesigned with fully renovated bunkers, fairway sculpturing and new distance markers and logo flags. Last but not least, the club's staff has been reorganized to raise the level of customer service and maximize operational efficiency.

The look of Panther Woods is clean and fresh with traditional Treasure Coast style homes. Panther Woods has a solid membership base with residents ranging from families to "snowbirds," who migrate south to escape northern winters. There are 68 single-family homes, 42 golf course villas and several condominium complexes. Golf course and lakeside home sites are now available for development in Panther Woods.
