Peabody Place Block Party Wednesday Night
To Feature Two Bands:
Come In Berlin and 221B

MEMPHIS, Tennessee, May 22, 1998 – The May Block Party at Peabody Place will feature the live music of two bands beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 27 at "The Block That Rocks," the corner of the Main Street Mall and Peabody Place at the foot of the Peabody Place Tower.

Come In Berlin and 221B will alternate sets until 9 p.m.

Everyone at the party will be able to register to win a trip for two to Disney World. The prize includes airfare, accommodations, and tickets to Disney World.

Those 21 years of age and older may register to win at Breckenridge Brewery, Carlton Cards, Java Blues, City Grocery, McCarty Travel, Elvis Presley’s Memphis, and Ciao Cucina Restaurant.

The "Polaroid In Pursuit Road Tour" also will be at the event. Polaroid will be lending cameras for an hour and giving away free film for people to take their own photos of the party. T-shirts and other prizes will be given for the best photos.

The Peabody Place block parties have proven popular since being introduced late last summer. Hundreds attend the early evening celebrations that feature live music, a variety of food and drinks, and something unusual – from cheerleaders to a high-wire act.

Wednesday’s bash is being sponsored by Breckenridge Brewery; Ciao Cucina Restaurant; McCarty Travel; City Grocery; WPTY-TV, Channel 24; Rock Radio 103-FM; the Center City Commission; and The Memphis Flyer.
