‘Future Star’ Michelle Lewis to headline June 8 performance at Peabody Place.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee, May 25, 1999 – Giant Records recording artist Michelle Lewis will headline the next performance of the Peabody Place Summer Concert Series at 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 8.

Slated to perform songs from her debut album, "Little Leviathan," Lewis’ performances encapsulate the breadth and diversity of her life experiences.

From her childhood role as a regular on Sesame Street, to roles in advertising campaigns for Coca-Cola, Oreo’s, Clairol, Arrid, Blockbuster and Cover Girl, Lewis’ eclectic accomplishments span more than 20 years. Most recently, Lewis composed a number of smash hits for artists across the world under a contract with BMG Music Publishing. Among the hits are "It’s Alright," (Australia) "Think About Me," (United Kingdom) "Live Without You," (Europe and Japan) "Deeper Shades of Love," (Canada) and "I Will Be Your Friend" (U.S.).

"Little Leviathan" brings together a unified set of songs with imaginative variations on a theme. In addition to a variety of tracks popular with her fans, the album features Lewis’ first hit single, "Nowhere and Everywhere."

Michelle Lewis is the first "Future Star" to perform at Peabody Place this summer. Sponsored by Belz Enterprises, Budweiser, the Center City Commission, FM-100 and The Memphis Flyer, the "Future Star" concerts introduce Memphis to up-and-coming musicians identified by national talent agencies as the industry’s rising stars.

In the event of rain, this concert will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 9.

Developed by Memphis-based Belz Enterprises, Peabody Place is an eight-block mixed-use facility in downtown Memphis. The Peabody Place Museum and Gallery, a grocery store, a card shop and several other restaurants and stores have located in the Peabody Place retail space providing convenient goods and services for people living, working and visiting downtown.
