PEABODY PLACE MUSEUM CELEBRATES PANDAS, PAINTINGS & PAGODAS

WHAT:
To kick off "Pandas, Paintings and Pagodas: A Weekend of Chinese Culture," Peabody Place Museum will host a wine and cheese reception during the South Main Art Trolley Tour. Visitors can enjoy the reception and browse the museum's extensive collection of Chinese 19th century art for a special admission fee of $2.
The celebration of Chinese art and culture continues with a family day on the grounds of the Brooks Museum and the Memphis Zoo. Visitors can look for the Peabody Place Museum tent on the Memphis College of Art grounds. Participants can wear panda costumes or masks and join Bamboo the panda in the "Panda Parade," trailing from the Zoo to the Brooks Museum. The celebration will also include Chinese storytelling, hands-on art activities and Chinese calligraphy as well as Chinese fan making.
