Belz’s New Industrial Sites
Offer State-of-the-Art Technology

“The latest and the greatest” distribution and warehouse centers in Memphis are quickly approaching an opening date, according to Larry Wood, assistant director industrial division, Belz Enterprises.

Southridge Industrial Park, located at 4971 Southridge near Shelby Dr. and Kirby Pkwy. Extd., will offer 150,000 sq. ft. of distribution space. The convenient location of Southridge makes it ideal for businesses located in East Memphis as Southridge is the farthest distribution point east of the city. The building is 200 ft. deep and offers 26 ft. high ceilings. The space can be leased from 10,000 sq. ft. up to 150,000 sq. ft., depending on the needs of the tenant. The building is of tilt wall concrete construction and features top-of-the-line ESFR sprinkler systems, which are a rare commodity and in high-demand with distributors in the area, according to Wood.

Along with the latest in technology South-ridge offers, Belz’ss other industrial building, not yet named, is currently under construction. The Holmes Road Industrial Park, located at Holmes Rd. and Hickory Hill behind the Kroger distribution center, provides 385,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and distribution space. The ceilings are an unusual 34 ft. high.

“The increased height is a characteristic of modernistic buildings. Most older warehouse and distribution centers do not offer the height that the newer buildings do,” says Woods.

The Holmes Road site also will offer state-of-the-art ESFR sprinkler systems and ample dock doors. Both locations will be ready for tenants in fall 1997 and currently are available for leasing.

Stan Myers
Retail Leasing Representative

For more than three-and-a-half years, Stan Myers has been a staple of Belz’s brokerage department. During this time, Stan, a retail leasing representative, has been instrumental in leasing the mixed-use development at Peabody Place in Downtown Memphis.

Born and raised in Memphis, Stan remembers the city as it used to be years ago. The Peabody Place project has become his passion in an effort to restore Downtown Memphis to the grandeur of its past.

“It is exciting to be a part of the rejuvenation of Downtown knowing that Peabody Place has been the leader in the revitalization. The Peabody Place Retail and Entertainment Center will redefine ‘a night on the town,’” says Stan. “With its unique mix of tenants the entire complex will create a regional impact offering a combination of retail and entertainment unique to the Mid-South. The overall change that Peabody Place has already made to the atmosphere of Memphis has been rewarding in itself.”

Stan graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor of science degree in finance. His background includes retail leasing with Boyle Investment Co. and real estate banking with the National Bank of Commerce.

At Belz, Stan has used his experience in leasing shopping centers across the states of Tennessee and Arkansas.

“The number of retail leasing opportunities at Belz is tremendous,” says Stan. “It has been a pleasure working in a company that is, and continually desires to be a major player in its markets.”

Stan enjoys spending time with his wife, Sally, and his three sons, Ben, Zack and Tyler. In his free time, Stan can be seen on the greens, pursuing his love of golf.
